About Bobby
Meet Bobby, the retired greyhound. Cheeky, fun-loving and stubborn, Bobby is an incredibly affectionate and loving boy with tonnes of personality.
Although he enjoys his daytime snoozes, unlike some greyhounds Bobby is oozing with energy and life and would suit a family who are looking for a more active greyhound.
His command & recall training skills (come, stay) are partially developed, but he will thrive in a household that invests time in training him good behaviours. Helpfully, he is food-oriented - in fact, can be a bit of a food pest! - and is very intelligent, so takes well to learning new skills.
He loves humans and cuddles and when he’s not snoozing in the sun, he will be your shadow.
He enjoys going for walks, playing "catch the ball and then lie down and try to eat it”, lots of pats and chewing on your shoes.
He shows much promise interacting with other dogs, has never been aggressive toward any people, dogs or other animals, and is curious to make new friends. He enjoys interacting with other dogs whenever possible and tends to copy the behaviours they display, so may be well suited to a family that already homes a friendly dog that could become his doggy mentor as he adjusts to his new life as your pet.
He has shown some interest in birds and wayward soccer balls (?!) so the prey instinct is definitely present. That said, he has made good friends with some small dogs so he is certainly trainable to become generally small-dog friendly. He hasn’t met any cats or other animals yet.
Although he hasn’t been well exposed to children before, he loves it when local children go in for a pat, and is vey curious around prams, so may be suitable for a house with kids that would enjoy learning about him as he learns about them.
He would thrive in an environment with some pals to play with, and where he is showered with the affection that he will give you back tenfold.
