About Kerr
Currently living with her sister by her side, Kerr is an independent and active girl. After running a few kms around the oval in the morning she is happy to lie on the grass on her own, she always seems to find a shady place around the garden. She loves pats and cuddles and will sit by your side until she is tired and is happy to lay by herself finding a quiet place.
At first interaction she can shy away from new people and places, but after a few minutes of cautiously investigating she is back to her normal self. She prefers a gentle approach staying close to her carer, and when she feels comfortable, she warms to other dogs and great with kids. After she warms to you, she can get the puppy excitement and jump up and down and takes a minute for her to settle back down.
Running around the oval with her carer and sister is her favourite event. She does get distracted by smells and loves to explore the world around her.
She is getting use to wearing a collar, but thinks her lead is a toy to hold onto so we are still practicing to walk on the lead. Kerr is learning basic manners whilst in care and will sleep in her crate overnight or for a nap. Travels well in the car and is pretty good off lead (except for those distractions!).
As a working breed mix, Kerr is highly intelligent with high energy levels. We are only looking for an active family that has proven experience in raising and developing a dog of this nature. You will need to show what experience you have, what you plan to do to meet her physical & mental stimulation needs and how you intend to socialise, train and develop her during Covid restrictions.
She must have a family committed to her on going training, health & happiness. We are looking for a home well versed in some form of dog sport and the benefits that will give a girl like this.
Friendly with other dogs, kids and people in general, Kerr is a sweet, smart & curious pup who will need a home with another similar size / energy dog at home for company and or someone home most days. She is not an average family dog that can be left out in the yard all day and must be allowed to sleep inside and be an integral part of her family.
We will only be accepting and responding to those applicants that meet this criteria and can articulate their experience and plans.
If you feel you can add a working breed mix into your family, you can apply by completing the adoption enquiry form on our Fetching Dogs website to register your interest.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
