ABOUT MAVERICK

Maverick lives up to his famous Top Gun namesake! A little terrier with a huge heart who punches above his weight!!! He loves life and will happily play with young children and would be most at home with an active family with someone at home with him during the day. With a little training (toilet and basic commands) his personality would be a winner with everyone he meets. His smile is THE BEST! He’s not overly boisterous, doesn’t bite and is happy to go along with children’s games of tag or hide n seek. Fun is in Maverick’s DNA. He sleeps in his crate inside but really needs to see you while he sleeps on his bed during the day or he will bark. Understanding neighbors or a larger yard will be needed as his barking would not suit an apartment . It is not known if a companion dog might help with this. With a little effort to help him learn some life skills like coming to his name and toilet training he would be a joy to have in a family. Maverick is a pint sized little champion!

BEHAVIOUR NOTES

He does not travel in the car well but if someone is with him in the back he is OK. He requires secure fencing and he will scoot towards open doors so he always has his collar on and lead (for first few days). He’s not too fussy with food liking dog roll from Woollies and liver treats and some fresh steak pieces. He does nip a little when removing his coat or with a toy but never is bite with aggression. Maverick does bark a lot and at everything and anything, and especially if alone. Maverick will need further training and consistency to curb some bad habits he has gotten away with.
