Casper ~ 9yr Old Maltese X(On Trial 19/09/21)

This handsome character is Casper. He’s a 9 year old Maltese X. Casper wins hearts everywhere he goes. He is sweet and friendly…and very smart.

Casper is a toothless but healthy senior now. He is still very agile and loves sniffersize (you know – that slow walk where we explore everything around us). Casper does not need someone to throw a ball or find missing toys – he’s just not into game playing. He will sometimes break into a zoomie just for fun. He has low exercise needs, so may be the perfect companion for an older person.

This little man knows his commands and is very obedient. He sits for his food and if you feed him chicken, you win his heart. Despite the lack of teeth, he is easy to cater for, and even enjoys occasional treats and kibble. He enjoys a car ride and doesn’t move from his seat.

He loves a night time cuddle on the lounge. He does like to go to bed early though. He sleeps on the bed if he is allowed to, but doesn’t get too close. If you get up overnight, he gets up too. He’s usually right near you, making sure all is well.

A very easy going character, Casper is never cranky or snappy, but will bark at strange things to warn you. He is an excellent doorbell, and settles immediately once you go see what he is barking at. He doesn’t like cats or birds much, and can get a bit noisy/nervous when big dogs are around. He is okay with other small dogs once a polite introduction has been made.

He gets startled by loud or sudden noises. He likes children but is very unsure of rough and loud play, so he would not be an ideal fit for young families. He doesn’t like to be left alone for long periods. If he is left outside alone for long periods, he will look for ways to get out and go exploring.

Casper is a handsome little man with a velvet soft coat that requires occasional brushing, which he enjoys. He is all white, except for his ears, which are a light honey colour. He is good in the bath and also at the groomers where he gets his hair cut every few months. The ladies at the salon love him and tell us what a good boy he is. He, like most little white dogs, gets tear stains under his eyes and around his muzzle, but that does not detract from his dashing good looks.

Casper has been a companion for his dad, who is no longer able to care for him. He came to his foster home and settled quickly and easily, but he definitely craves having one special human to focus his love and attention on. He is an only dog here and is comfortable that way.

Casper's adoption fee is $400 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.
