About Ranger
Meet Ranger
We looking for a lucky individual or family with older kids over 13+ to include Ranger as part of their family! We are looking for the perfect home!
Ranger is a 4yo deaf Boxer x Bull Arab who spent the first few years of his life without much interaction from dogs and had absolutely no training. Since we have had Ranger in care, he has thrived and learned a lot of commands (sit, drop, down, come, yes, no, and good boy!).
We’ve also discovered he needs a firm handler/trainer/experienced dog person who knows how to teach a dog boundaries and wants a fun-loving dog to join them for training as well as either agility, luring work, or nose work and is home most of the time or ideally works from home.
He comes with some great training already under his belt and is very well crate trained. He is a friendly, VERY enthusiastic boy so would do best with a bigger, friendly, calm female dog who can also teach him some manners if needed, as he tends to miss social cues and be a bit full-on for some dogs.
No cats or pocket pets.
Ranger needs someone home most of the time and if gone, would need to ensure he is safe in the backyard with 6ft fences or similar or willing to take him with them on their outings. He also does love an adventure in the bush or a good hike!
Ranger’s a very smart boy, and very eager to learn. However, he needs an experienced dog person or someone with Boxer breed experience) who is happy to teach him to be calm, have patience, and most importantly to respect people and dog boundaries.
As mentioned above, he’d absolutely love a job to do! He loves working for his treats and we really believe he would thrive with someone who wants to do nose work, luring, or agility… they would have the perfect partner in Ranger!
He walks pretty well on a lead, mostly calmly, and has started to relax and walk on a loose lead.
Ranger is currently in care on a few acres and ideally would love a home with a large backyard.
He is currently located 1 hour inland from Brisbane but interstate adoption is available. Transport at the adopter's expense.
