About Mac
Meet Mac! He's one of the lucky ones to be rescued from a rural NSW pound to start his new journey in finding his forever home.
Can we start off by saying what a sweet puppy he is?
He makes his foster parents laugh and is very much an easy going pup. He's a very loving and affectionate boy who shares his love between all the family. He draws lots of attention when out on walks because he loves to say "hello" and is such a stunning looking pup. Whilst he loves hanging with this family, he is also happy to just relax in his comfy bed, or patch of grass. He's also proven to be quite a water-baby and loves a good splash.
Mac has come a long way since he came into care as a shy, timid pup. He's progressing well with his walks, gaining confidence around traffic and other pedestrians and starting to walk politely on lead. He has built his confidence first by learning basic cues like sit, drop/down, wait and a recall. He's now graduated to learning fun tricks and problem solving skills - like skateboarding! Mac travels well in the car and sleeps in his own crate at night.
Whilst he's definitely made a lot of progress, Mac would benefit from continued socialisation, especially with exposure to new environments and situations. His new owner should be committed to enrolling in puppy school or obedience classes to further his education, socialisation and help strengthen the bond between owner and pup.
Mac will eventually grow to be a larger dog and therefore, would be best suited to a home that can provide him appropriate levels of mental stimulation and exercise. He has a tendency to eat things that you wouldn't think would be tasty. Therefore, he requires a puppy proof home/yard until he breaks this habit.
He has thrived in care with an older, calm, medium size dog and would love to have a friend at his new home to show him the ropes as he can panic in uncertain situations. Without another dog, his family will need to be home most days and offer him daily opportunity for doggy playtime, socialisation and adventure.
Mac is an inside / outside dog who spends his time inside with his family when home and would need to sleep inside in a comfy bed or crate with access to his humans for those all important cuddles.
If you're ready for Mac's love and affection, head on over to our Fetching Dogs website and fill out an adoption enquiry form as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
