About Chubbs
The beautiful Chubbs is now seeking his special home
This cheeky and lovable American Staffy pup is full of adorable fun and absolute; typical Staffy testing the boundaries
Chubbs is a boisterous and extremely loving boy. Chubbs is very loving towards his humans and is so happy to be greeted every time and seriously thrives on any attention given to him. Chubbs can spend eternity on his treats and toys and these are the best thing to keep Chubbs occupied as he needs a lot of stimulation throughout the day. Chubbs loves both humans and dogs and doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body however will want to play with everyone and every dog he meets. He’s extremely welcoming and kind towards strangers and dogs that we meet, and just has to say hello so he will try his best to get to everyone. Adding to this, Chubbs LOVES his walks and loves to be out and about in the sunshine enjoying the outside world so he’s an awesome dog to be accompanied with. The perfect home for chubbs would be with someone who has experience with this beautiful breed.
Obedience
Chubbs sits perfectly for his treats and can even shake which is so cute! He does it so fast just so he can get his treats . He comes when you call him by his name and responds to simple commands like “up” and “come” however if he’s overwhelmed by a lot of people in the room and if he’s too excited that all goes out the window and he just does his own thing and enjoys himself running amuck. Chubbs does get excited to the point where he does like to bite or grab your arm/hand so this will definitely need to be a training point for him as he just wants to play all the time and when he gets bored he likes to chase you around the house and may even give you a cheeky bum bite.
Enrichment
Chubbs will need a lot of stimulation throughout the day whether it’s through toys, kongs or treats. His daily walks are also a necessity to relieve him of his excitement and about 2 walks a day is what we recommend. If chubbs is left alone for too long he can get quite bored and will find anything in the backyard or the house to play with or chew, this is purely out of boredom or sometimes when he’s too excited. This is where his bones and treats can definitely help control his boredom.
Sleeping
Chubbs sleeps inside however has a bed outside also for during the day when we are not home. He currently sleeps on our bed or sometimes on his bed on the floor, depending on what he feels like that night but he does prefer the bed or couch. When he’s too comfortable and you try to move him he will give you a growl to let you know that he is too comfortable to be moved so we usually let him sleep where he likes as to not disturb him. He’s toilet trained so he may whine to go outside during the night but it’s nothing crazy as he usually sleeps throughout the night with no issues at all. His sleeping schedule is 8pm to around 7:30am.

Socialization
Chubbs does amazingly with other dogs and people. He gets really excited when he sees other dogs and wags his tail and just wants to play so socialization is important for him. He does get very boisterous and excited and it will take him a while to get settled but all he wants to do is run and play. Chubbs would ideally reside in a home where he is the only dog as he does need to be trained a bit more in a cal
Medical notes
+ Medical
Chubbs came in to us with a broken left leg and we have had him while he has been recovering from his surgery A plate was placed into the leg and screws were placed in to strengthen the joint
Since surgery Chubbs has had 2 xrays 4 weeks apart to review the healing and he has now been cleared for adoption
For the next 4 weeks Chubbs will still NOT be allowed to go for walks that are longer that 45 mins a day with a slow build up to longer over the weeks and initially not to be off lead in a huge park area till his strength on the leg improves With these types of breaks as Chubbs ages there is always the risk of arthritis in the elbow
