What a cutie with that super white coat and those long, long ears!
Rocky loves to greet you with a jump every morning, which he’s learning shouldn’t, but he’s so happy when his humans arrive in his sleeping area. After he’s had breakfast and his outside visit, he’ll curl up on his bed in the winter sun, hoping that his humans will move the bed to keep the sun on it and him. Of course, we do as his coat is thin. He does love his jammies.
Even though he has 2 big boy dogs to play with, Rocky will pass them up for human interactions. He does listen to ‘stop’ and ‘no’ (tone of voice too), but if you’re not upset with doggie licks and cuddles, then he’s yours. He’ll snuggle up to you and go to sleep close by.
He knows his food is given to him in his crate. When we say ‘crate’ he dashes into it, sitting semi-patiently. He sleeps in there, but does prefer the comfy dogs beds on the floor or to sneak onto the lounge where he’ll sleep with his head on the armrest or human lap.
Rocky sits, and is starting to understand ‘wait’ – humans go outside and inside first. He’s getting better at traveling in the car and loves the windows open for all the new smells.
His recalls are improving and when he does come, he will beat the 2 big dogs into the house. He’ll toilet when he’s let outside and is told to ‘do wee-wees’ and knows if he does, there are pats and ‘Good boy’ in the human’s happy voice.
Rocky knows it’s not a good idea to chase kitties as they have sharp claws. He’s slowly learning that seeing a cat run, does not mean it’s a game. He’s going to need a dog-savvy cat or lots of ‘Rocky must not chase the cat’ lessons.
He’s very good at the vet. He’ll let the vet poke and prod him without a whimper or protest, even when the fingers go in the mouth to check teeth. PS the vet nurses love him and his ears!
Even though he has his big boy teeth, Rocky enjoys a chew - anything from his comfy bed to a few tennis balls. Those yummy Dentastix are a favourite along with treat balls and chewing toys. Zoomies of the ‘White Flash’ in the yard are great to watch. He easily beats the big boys with his zippy speed.
It would be great if his new family have another dog for him to enjoy playing with and a human child or 2 over 10 years of age who can keep teaching him not to jump when excited and give lots of praise.
With that lovely personality and those ears, Rocky will seek out cuddles and love from his forever family and they’ll be rewarded with a faithful family member for life.
