About Bonnie
Well hey, hi, how’s it going? My name is Bonnie and I am an American bulldog 2 year and nearly 4 months old!
So my foster mum said I had to tell you a bit about me hmm okay lets see
About 6 months ago I found myself surrendered to the pound heavily pregnant – it was horrendous – I was so scared and confused and really really pregnant … the rescue was alerted to me and they quickly got me out of there – i was really nervous and unsure of where I was going but the lady that picked me up was nice and she took me to my new foster mum who was really happy to see me.
When I first meet people I’m a bit nervous but they both gave me time to adjust to them and they took the time to make sure I was safe, fed and really comfortable.
My foster mum introduced me to a tennis ball omg that was so much fun – I had a ball (ha ha ha) over the next few days playing and getting heaps and heaps of attention of my foster mum.
Five days after I came into care I have 6 healthy puppies and the rescue was amazing they helped me with my labor and my pups and made sure I was taken care of! I mean like my foster mum was hand feeding me warm roast chicken – I have never experienced some love and tenderness before that.
My puppies have all gone off to their forever homes and I have had girl surgery so my baby making days are behind me (yeah for me) and now my foster mum says it’s time for me to find my forever home and have the love and happiness that I truly deserve.
I am looking for someone who knows about my breed and while I’m okay around kids, my foster mum says I’m really too big and clutzy for them if they are under 10 years old.
I have had some trauma in my background so I’m really unsure of most men – I’m way better with females and am very loyal so please ensure that if there is any men in the house that they are prepared to work really slowly with me and know that I am nervous and scared of them and will bark and try and show that I’m really tough until I can trust you.
I love to make my foster mum smile and she says I’m eager to please but need someone who is patient and can teach me some of the stuff I need to be reminded of and also not fall for my cheeky grin and something about obstinance (I don’t know she mutters that under her breath sometimes)
My foster mum has been great with me and taught more basic training but I promise I’m a quick leaner and just love to please my foster mum.
I love walks and travelling in the car but my first love is chasing a ball – omg I just love it. I’m not great at giving the ball back, I much prefer a game of chasey – but if you don’t chase me I will bring the ball back… eventually…. And then want to repeat the game again.
I would prefer to be an only dog – not that I am not dog friendly with other dogs it’s just that I really want a home where I can be me and be loved. My foster mum says that I am okay with other dogs as long as they are not in my mum’s lap (especially those small breeds that can snuggle in so quickly) – I do a bit of a lip curl and my mum says I have to stop being jealous. When I go walking I don’t react to the other dogs at the fences or anything like that. I am going to say no to cats.
I would love a home where the family wants me to be a part of their lives – inside and out – I love being where you are and just generally been near you.
I do have a secret guilty pleasure that I have managed to convince my foster mum to do – she tucks me into bed at night in my blankies!!!!! I love it!!! It makes me feel so loved and secured.
If you think you could make me part of your family & are interested in applying to adopt me, please send thru an adoption application, I can’t wait to have a family of my own.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.

INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
