About Bindi
Bindi is is a sweet cheeky girl. She will still need a patient human to help her brave the big wide world on her walks but improves every day. She isn’t a fan of traffic and loud unexpected noises. Otherwise she is curious and loves to explore her surroundings. She is happier to visit a quiet park and does love her zoomies at home in her safe place.
She also likes to play on-way-fetch. She will chace after the toy you toss but hasn’t learnt to bring it back so you can toss it again.
Even though she is smaller, Bindi can get super excited and very bouncy and jump when its time for dinner, you get home from work of even just greet her in the morning.
Bindi is toilet trained and happy to spend some time home alone. Her foster family leave her with Kong to filled with kibble to keep her busy when they leave. She is smart and loves her food so is easy to train.
She responds to ‘stay’, ‘on your bed’, ‘lay down’ & ‘back’ (recall). If she’s being cheeky, she’ll stop what she’s doing if you say ‘ah ah’ or ‘no’.
Bindi does like to borrow household items such as a slipper but happy to exchange it for a toy when you discover her theft. Bindi has displayed some resource guarding with food with another dog so we suggest she is best adopted as an only dog.
Bindi’s foster carers think she is the sweetest most affectionate girl. She will shower you with kisses and tail slaps.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
