About 3552 - Peony
💖🌸 MEET PEONY 🌸💖
"You're only here for a short visit. Don't hurry, don't worry, and be sure to smell the flowers along the way." - Walter Hagen.
Hey buds, how's it growing? Long thyme, no see! Okay, okay, enough of the plant jokes, it's time to get serious.
My name is Peony and life so far has been far from kind to me. All I've ever known is the tough and mean streets of Perth, the cold and unwelcoming pound or being in foster care (which isn’t that bad, but a real home of my own would be better!). I've never had a home to call my own or a family to love me the way all animals should be loved. But this isn't a pity party! Life is too short to be sad! So, instead of feeling gloomy, let's take a journey and get to know each other. Let the good thymes roll! Ahem, sorry...
My life started off in the way most stray cats' lives begin; in the pound, hungry, cold and alone. Thankfully one of the Angels whisked me away to safety and gave me somewhere cosy and warm to sleep and filled my belly right up.
I think it's fairly self-explanatory how I came to have this name. Pretty flower, pretty face - it's simple really. Not only am I a stunner, I have the cutest little white boots and a squishy belly that swings from side to side when I run. Adorable, right? Some may call me a chonker but I say there is just simply more of me to love!
I do come with a few behavioural issues, but what queen doesn't? Whitney? Mariah? My drama is nothing in comparison to those divas! I'm just hoping there is someone out there that will give this little lady a chance to grow and flourish into the beautiful flower she was always supposed to be.
Companions (Children, Cats & Dogs)
I'm a pretty easy breezy going kinda gal when it comes to my furry friends. So long as they are gentle, calm and respectful of my boundaries, i can live with anyone quite happily. In my previous home I lived with an annoying kitty who would constantly wind me up and harrass me; I did not like him at all! I now live with much more easygoing and respectful fosters and we all live together peacefully.
I have never met doggo's before but I think I would be able to co-exist with one as long as they are placid, good with kitties and respectful of my boundaries. It also goes without saying that introductions must be slow and supervised to allow everyone to adjust to their new living arrangements.
When it comes to the tiny human variety I am a little bit more of a challenge. Due to the fact I don't always respond well to being touched, my foster mama says I need to live in a home with no young children. I would do well with the "almost adult" kind who will understand my needs and respect my boundaries. I love human company and I'm hoping to find my new BFF (best bud forever!) and that could very well be with a teenager or an adult. I don't discriminate - if you love me, I'll love you right back!
Likes / Dislikes
I have only been with my new foster parents for a very brief period of time so I'm still somewhat of a mystery. What little they do know about me is that I am somehow both very laid back and low maintenance and also a bit of a complex character at the same time, oopsy-daisy!
I'm a very independent little nugget and love nothing more than to spend my days snoozing in a cosy sun spot lapping up those warming rays. If you come and say hello to me I will give an excited little chirrup and come and greet you but I'm not one for following humans around all day, ain't nobody got thyme for that!
I'm a big fan of curling up on a bed and snoozing the day away and will happily keep you company during nap times; I love a good nappy nap. I'm also a big foodie and would do anything for a slice of roast chicken, yum yum!
As my foster mama has mentioned before I can be very reactive when I'm touched which can result in me scratching or even biting. My foster humans aren't sure why I do this but the more time I spend with my humans, the better I'm getting. My foster mum sneaks in the occasional pat as I rub up against her and I don't seem to mind at all, so she thinks slow and steady is definitely the way to go. I may never fully outgrow this behaviour but hopefully there is someone out there who is willing to give me a chance and who will be-leaf in me. My foster parents say that their lives would succ without me!
My PURR-fect home would be with a wonderfully sweet-natured and caring family who want to give a beautiful little firecracker a second chance at life. They will need to be patient, and kind, and understand that I'm a very special little lady with my own unique set of quirks. I may never be a cuddly cat, or a lap cat, but I am so berry cute and have so much love to give to anyone who is willing to give me a chance.
Ideally there will be no other animals in the house, but if there is a very gentle and laid back floof who will give me plenty of space then I'm certain life will be just peachy. My main wish is to find a home with a cosy place to rest my head, a sunny spot to bathe the day away, and a beautiful some-bud'y to love. If you think you could be the one for me grab your coat, put the petal to the metal, and come and meet me today. You will well and truly make my daisy.
