About Bella
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Bella
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us as an owner surrender.
BREED: Terrier x
Terrier general breed traits: they come in all shapes and sizes and were bred for different reasons but many were for farm work or ratting. Today they are mainly companions. Terriers are generally high energy, very bright and quick to learn but can be stubborn. They have strong personalities and a sense of fun and want to be included in everything you do. Don't take on a terrier unless you really do want a companion.
ASSETS: Shy initially, affectionate, devoted, eager to please, playful and very sweet! Bella is an absolute darling and is friendly towards everyone that she meets once she gets over her initial shyness.
FAVOURITE THINGS: People! She loves to be around her people and looks forward to cuddle-time and a lap if it's free. Given half a chance she will snuggle under the bed clothes with carer at night. She also likes to play with stuffed toys and do zoomies with the other dogs in the house.
ENDEARING FEATURES: She's very gentle and sweet natured, she's a complete delight to be around!
OTHER ANIMALS: She loves to be with other dogs and would be fine with a doggy companion in her new home. She will chase cats and small animals so we won't rehome her with anything small and furry!
GENERAL INFO: Bella tugs a little on her lead walks and will only bark when someone is at the door. She doesn't really recognize basic commands at this stage. She is mostly housetrained but still has the odd accident, so her house and command training will need some work from her new owner.
ESSENTIALS for Bella:
- A quiet, loving home where someone is there for most of the day on a permanent basis, or can take her with them when they go out. She will need someone with the patience to allow her to adjust to her new surroundings in her own time.
- An owner willing to continue to train her and take her for classes where she can socialize and learn new things in a safe and controlled environment.
- Daily walks twice a day for exercise and exposure to increase confidence.
- A well fenced, secure yard with some grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore.
- To be allowed inside or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night and be included as part of the family.
Bella could live with dog-savvy, gentle children over 10 years of age. It is important that adults and children in her new home understand to give her space when she needs it and let her get to know them in her own time. Bella could also live with a youngish doggy friend, preferably male, after gentle introduction.
If Bella sounds like the perfect girl for you, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
