About Megan Meowkle and Mr Meowgie
Our babies Megan Meowkle and Mr Meowgie are having their final vet visit on Monday and then can go to their forever home!!
We are now taking expressions of interest, it’s not first in best dressed with these babies we want to make sure they go to the right home ❤️
Megan has very limited vision in her remaining eye so she needs a home who would be happy to keep her if she eventually goes blind, at the moment she can definitely see though. For this reason we will only accept applications who want to keep these 2 together, as Mr Meowgie helps her navigate the world, despite being vision impaired himself!
Their perfect home would be:
-one where they’re together
-no very young or loud or rough children
-a house without lots of clutter or sharp objects that they could bump into
-other cats and dogs are fine
-a small room to start them off in where they feel safe then they can explore the house at a slow pace (a playpen in the lounge would also work)
-strictly indoor only, unless you have a secure outdoor cat run without clutter or sharp objects
(This means no “supervised” outside access into the back yard, either of them could get spooked and jump a fence in an instant)
-someone who is patient and understand they will be timid to start with, maybe for a few weeks, they can be very jumpy with new people and places given their limited vision
Their medical history:
For those who haven’t seen their previous posts, their whole litter came in with eyelid and eye deformities. Megan and Mr Meowgie we’re originally taken to AWL and we’re going to be euthanized, luckily we found out and we were able to have them transferred to us for ongoing treatment ❤️
Megan has had one eye removed and her remaining eye has had a 2 stage surgery to create an eyelid. Her remaining eyeball is deformed, the iris is attached to the lens but she can still see out of it. It shouldn’t cause her any dramas in the future but there is a small chance the eye will fail later in life and need to be removed, making her completely blind.
Mr Meowgie needed one eye removed and the other eye has had the eyelashes cryo frozen off so they don’t rub on his eye anymore. He won’t need any further treatment.
They have been desexed, fully vaccinated, microchipped and wormed regularly
Their personality:
They are happy and playful kittens when they’re together, they love to run and explore the home although they do bump into things 😂 they love other cats and are happy around big and little dogs.
They are skittish when approached from above and take some time before they trust new people. But they’re both cuddle bugs once they learn you’re safe and have a cozy lap to sleep on ❤️
Megan tries her hardest to play with toys on a string but Mr Meowgie usually takes the lead on that one! This is the fastest way to gain their trust.
They loooove a back scratch and will roll around purring if you’ll give them belly rubs!
They’re still babies at only 6 months old, they’ve been through so much in their short lives so far, but they still have so much life and love to give to their forever family!
