Patch

Patch is a sweet girl who has been through a lot in her life. She was surrendered to the shelter where she wasn’t coping with all the noise. When she arrived into care, she was extremely frightened, so much so that she only left her cat cave at night to eat, drink and use the litter tray when she was sure no one was around.

When her carer tried to get as close as 2 metres from her, Patch would hiss to show her discomfort and fear. It took a few days for Patch to understand that no one wanted to hurt her and she started showing small signs of improvement. From there, every day has been a little victory for her and she’s come out of her shell to show her true affectionate nature. However, everything is still a work in progress.

Given her past, Patch’s ideal home is with adults only, preferably a single person, but possibly a couple could be fine too as long as everyone understands how to give her space and time to feel comfortable and safe. Patch is looking for a calm place, with no children and no other pets, where she can live indoors and soak up all the love, positive vibes and tranquility she now deserves. If you can offer her this, you can also forget about relaxing on the couch alone! Patch would jump up to lay next to you or on your lap, looking at you with her adoring golden eyes and taking all the pats she can get. She also shows her love and appreciation by headbutting you, licking your forehead or hand and showing you her belly for a little rub. However, she is terrified of being picked up and she will tell you not to do it.

So far Patch hasn’t shown much interest in toys, but if a flying insect comes in, she would chase it until she gets bored. She also loves the mice video on the Cat TV. She is a very quiet young lady that isn’t into 3AM zoomies and doesn’t climb up the furniture other than on the couch to watch what’s happening outside the window.
