About Wookie
Hey dudes and dudettes I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Wookie. Yeah I know it’s a super cool name hey! I would love to keep it if I could. I’m looking for a new pad, somewhere that has some chilled out humans like myself. I’m not really fussy as I love everyone, mmmm except pesky cats. I just need someone to love me as much as I am gonna love them. My foster mum would love me to stay but I know she has a job to do of taking in more dogs like myself. So after a long discussion she’s helped me write my profile so I can find my bestest forever home. Please stop by and have a read.
Wookie is a stunning 5 year old mastiff x wolfhound. Whoever gets to adopt this boy is going to be the luckiest human out there as this boy is one of a kind. He will come into your life and steal your ??heart. Wookie is a big gentle giant who loves nothing more than to be by your side. He is truly a man's best friend kinda guy.
Obedience
Wookie is a super affectionate, polite, well mannered dog. He does not jump up at people, sits when told, especially if you have treats??, friendly to every dog or human he meets. Around the house, he likes to laze the day away inside or outside, he’s not really fussed. He isn’t a real barker only occasionally if someone walks by but only a few yaps and he’s done. His favourite thing is to be near his humans, he will come up to you, rest his big boofhead into your lap and look at you with his big puppy dog eyes or he will come up, sit and put one paw up to say hey! how about a pat, it’s been a while. He has the most soulful loving eyes you just can't resist to cuddle this big dude
ENRICHMENT and SOCIALISATION
Wookie looks forward to his daily walks with excitement, tail wags all round when he hears you get the lead. He is happy with a half hour to hour walk a day, fantastic on the lead, gently ambles along except if he sees a cat as he absolutely does not like them. If he spots one, his hunting instinct turns on and he wants to chase therefore will be strong on the lead. This is his only negative trait but he is a wolfhound after all. At a park or oval he is fine off lead sniffing the daily news. He returns when called and is happy to have his lead clipped back on. Wooks is polite and social to all dogs we have met. He is so adorable when he spots another dog from afar, he lets out a little whine or whimper, never a bark. He is not overly playful, just likes to say g’day with a sniff and tail wag then happily moves along. He really is a true gentleman. Wookie would NOT be suited to walks in areas where wildlife roam such as kangaroo and rabbits as he will be extremely strong on the lead so best suited to local parks and ovals without those distractions.
At home Wookie enjoys playing with the ball occasionally, chewing bones or cow hooves. He has shown no signs of being destructive when left alone inside or outside the house.
Sleeping
Oh he love love loves sleeping. He spends most of his day snoozing either on the couch, floor or his outside bed.
Wookie will put himself to bed at around 10pm and sleeps soundly all night. He currently sleeps inside on a doggy couch but really is happy anywhere. If outside he may bark at possums and wildlife so inside is best for him.
