Report Card
Name: Marty
English:
Being extremely shy from his time in the pound, Marty has taken a while to learn his name. He hasn’t yet mastered all basic commands, although he does understand when Foster Mum tells him “down” (off the bed!) and is beginning to learn “stay” when his food is put down.
Social Studies:
Marty follows his fur sister's lead and routine, and will even get into his crate at night by himself (although sometimes he does need a little persuasion).
Marty has learnt his daily routine well, and is able to be left home during the day as long as he has things to occupy him. He is a quiet dog (unless he is play wrestling) and isn’t bothered by visitors to the house, or children (5+ years). He has not met any cats or chickens. Marty loves human and canine company so would be best suited to company at home more often than not, and someone who doesn’t mind Marty becoming their shadow!
Marty has inside/outside access throughout the day at his foster home, and has had very few accidents. He will toilet at night before sleeping inside in a crate, and will rattle the crate to wake you if he needs to go again before you get up. Once he has been, he may be left out of the crate and is happy to nap near you till you are ready to get up.
Physical Education:
Marty is a quiet, fairly shy dog, who is still very much in his puppy phase. He loves to play with his furry foster sister who is much larger (great dane) than him, but is just as happy to have a snooze when she’s had enough. As a kelpie, Marty may require 6ft fencing as he gets older. However, has never shown any interest in jumping a 5ft (pool type) fence.
Marty’s favourite games include wrestling, tug-of-war and chewing. All done with his furry sister. As he is still very wary of people, he just enjoys cuddles and pats from his human family. Now that he is used to the lead, he walks beside you. Loud noises or dogs barking can startle him, but he is becoming braver and better at ignoring them.
Overall Comments and Grade
Marty would love to become part of an active family, who will lavish him with love and attention, and dedicate time to training him. He is a sweet boy who deserves his furever home. We wish Marty all the best with his future as he becomes the “bestest boy” we know he can be. A+
