About Jack
If you're looking for a lap cat that will immediately fit into your life and love you unconditionally, this is not that cat. Jack (AKA "Chucky") is not what you would call "social" or "easy going" or "not murderous" - at least, not at first.
Jack is... special. It's taken him months in foster care, but he's slowly started to show his true colours. He now seeks out affection and loves scratches behind the ears. He talks when he wants food or love. He chases his toys around the house and leaves them on his foster mum's pillow. These may seem like perfectly normal (even underwhelming) things to expect from a healthy 10-month-old kitten, but for Jack they have been hard-earned and taken a great deal of TLC. And Jack's personality cannot be denied. Over the last few weeks Jack has turned into a sweet and affectionate little angel, and when he has a toy mouse in his clutches he's hilarious to watch.
Any change in Jack's circumstances will likely inspire his alter-ego "Chucky" to reappear for a time, so Jack is looking for the perfect home with someone patient, compassionate and loving. Jack loves other cats and a friendly feline would go a long way to easing his transition into his new home. In fact, Jack is so enamoured by cats of all kinds (and so anxious around people) that this is non-negotiable. Jack will either need to be adopted into a home with an existing cat-friendly feline or adopted with his gorgeous, slightly skittish but ultimately lovely, sister Sally. A reduced adoption fee would apply should a suitable home wish to adopt Jack and Sally as a pair.
Adopting a kitten like Jack is not a decision that should be made on a whim. He may never be as confident in his surroundings as some other cats. But having watched him slowly come out of his shell I can say with absolute certainty that he is worth all the time and effort and then some.
Jack is litter trained, cat friendly, and loves to use his scratching post - which is great news for your furniture!
Medical notes
In the past Jack has been prescribed medications for his severe anxiety. While he is no longer on these medications, they may be required to aid in his transition to his new home.
Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
