About Sully
*In foster care in Randwick, Sydney*
Sully is a beautiful young dog with huge personality and puppy energy! A big, sociable goofball who wants to play with everyone he meets, he loves a good game of fetch, throwing his toys around and being your very own Neighbourhood Watch :)
During quieter times, Sully is sweet and affectionate and sleeps happily on his own at night. He can sometimes get overexcited in certain situations - jumping up on humans to say hello, and immediately romping around any dog that crosses his path (it's pure joy, but he tends not to know his own strength!). He's a clever fellow and very responsive to learning - he already knows 'sit' and 'wait' while out on his walks - so his new owner will need to commit to ongoing training to allow him to flourish into the goodest boy he can be.
Like all Maggie's pets, Sully is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: ... will be enthusiastic about my training and understand that I'm a bit of a 'rough diamond' at the moment! An experienced dog owner will be best - someone who'll be consistent, firm and patient. I just know I'll be the perfect dog once I've learned some manners!
Because of my huge amount of energy, I'll need a big backyard or acreage to run around in. I need at least two daily walks, too - a skill I'm becoming better at every day, though right now I do tug a bit on the lead (especially when I see a dog I'd like to play with!). I can't wait to become a model walker with the help of my forever family.
Personality-wise, I don't bark and I'm quite independent, showing no signs of separation anxiety since coming into foster care. I am very smart though, so it's possible I may get bored if left alone for long periods.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: Super high! I get overexcited very easily, so a calm environment will be best for me, with somebody who enjoys an active lifestyle. I'll need multiple daily walks, lots of playtime and (as mentioned above) regular behavioural training.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: I'm a bit too big and heavy for kids younger than high school age, I'm afraid. I'm the friendliest, loveliest boy, but sometimes that means I forget how easy it is to knock smaller people over without meaning to!
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I adore other dogs, but until I'm fully trained I might not be the best full-time companion. Based on my behaviour when meeting other leashed dogs on walk (VERY enthusiastic!), I should also be carefully supervised in any off-leash or dog park scenario.
Unfortunately I think I'd be a bit too OTT for any resident cats, too.

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/80677377750872. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
