About Sunshine
Our Sunshine’s name didn’t happen by accident. Sunshine is a smiley lady, always a happy to say hello, wag her bum and tail with the joy of being with her humans.
Being a senior, Sunshine enjoys the quiet life, happy for a sleep-in on the weekends just as long as she gets her two walks. Those walks don’t need to be long, just some time to spend with you sniffing and checking out the neighbourhood. Greeting neighbours and other doggies is a bonus.
Sunshine has been a pet for some years. Unfortunately her owner could no longer look after her so she has found a loving foster home with Gumtree Greys. She is very happy in the home, toilet trained of course and happy to accompany you through the day. Watch you doing the housework or nap beside you while you work from home.
Sunshine likes the quiet life so no noisy kids. She’s be fine to live with another do providing they are not too boisterous.
No cat applications please.
No children under ten
No full time workers unless working from home or there is another dog
We only consider applications who compete our Gumtree Greys online application.
When this is done we can make contact to discuss adopting a greyhound and potential suitable greys currently in foster care.
Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
This pet has been adopted and found love with its new family.
The rescue group has removed this pet and it is no longer available for adoption.
