About Willow ~ 2yr Old Kelpie X(On Trial 28/08/21)
Meet wonderful Willow, a stunning 2yr Old Kelpie X who is searching for her perfect forever home where she can run and play fetch with you all day long. She loves a cuddle and to snuggle in with you, so really she's the perfect mix!
Willow is a gorgeous gentle young girl who loves her humans and wants to be with you at all times. She's very intelligent as most Kelpies are and absolutely loves being challenged mentally and physically with games and play time. She is very gentle with children around 6yrs and over and plays well with her current foster fur friend, wrestling and playing until they've decided they've had enough.
Willow seems to have been well socialised with other dogs and is currently sharing the house and yard with another. Kelpies are a busy and energetic breed who flourish on being busy and staying active. Willow she would be best suited to having a fur brother or sister with the similar energy levels, however will play appropriately with older dogs also. This very intelligent, energetic and loving lady will need an active lifestyle if she is to thrive. Willow will be best suited to someone who can offer her continuous physical and mental stimulation.
Willow's forever family will be with someone who knows the breed, has the time to spend
continuing her training, understands her need for both mental and physical stimulation and
has plenty of time to play with him and go for walks! Her preferable perfect family will have someone home more often than not, as she can be uneasy about being left for long periods of time alone. Willow is a working breed and would not be suited to an apartment or small yard, she needs a very secure yard with high fencing. She is best suited to an active family who will take her on long walks and runs daily.
Willow does have a slight allergy to fleas which was apparent when she arrived in care. This will easily be mitigated with a comprehensive and consistent flea management plan to ensure she remains comfortable and happy. Willow is very food motivated so she will be easy to train and settle in her new home environment. We recommend allowing her 4-6 weeks to completely settle in her new home before introducing outside pressures such as dog park outings and high exposure walks to enable her time to bond with you fully.
Willow currently lives with a cat and is very gentle when interacting with him. Willow will need some more assistance with housetraining but being smart, she will pick it up quickly.
Willow is the perfect addition for an active household who has another doggo for company and loves sharing the great outdoors with their furry companions. For more information or to meet Willow, please contact her foster carer Cara on her email carapearsall673@gmail.com
