About Abby ~ 3yr Old Staffy X(On Trial 29/12/21)
Abby is a 3 year old Staffy X who is extremely affectionate and loves nothing more than to cuddle up to her foster parents and spend time with her cat and dog foster siblings.
Abby loves to be always close to her humans and to take naps with them if she can, as well as go on walks. She was limited in her exposure to the outdoors for most of her life so she can be a bit over eager. She loves to play with toys especially her tug of war rope and those chewable toys with the plastic bottle insert. She loves to fetch but hasn’t quite got the hang of the returning aspect yet. She loves to play and lounge around with her foster sister Bella as well as the cat and adores everyone that comes into the house.
Since coming into care Abby has learned to sit and beg and is great with other dogs and cats and shows no signs of aggression towards either and is an extremely relaxed and sociable girl that loves to play. She is however very eager and hasn’t had much experience walking on a lead and will need further training with someone strong enough as she is a very strong dog that tends to pull and will require a head halter or front attach harness.
Abby is an inside dog at her foster house and sleeps on the bed where she makes herself right at home. She has been house trained but still has the tendency to go inside unless taken out at regular intervals so this will need some more attention. When left outside she can be prone to separation anxiety as she is very bonded to her humans and may bark and will need further anxiety training for this.
Abby’s forever family will need to take into consideration her rough past when it comes to her continuing training and her need to be close to humans and to be inside with them when they’re home and someone experienced enough with dogs to give her the training she needs to become a perfect fit for your home.
Abby gets along with most dogs and cats so a foster sibling would be nice as she loves to play, and she was raised around children so families with kids 6+ would be a suitable fit for this gorgeous girl. Since she is a strong dog and has the ability to be destructive when left alone and anxious, she would best suit someone who works part time or is home most of the time. Her new home will need fencing that is at least 5-6 feet high with no small gaps.
