About Marley
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Marley
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us from the pound.
BREED: Mixed Breed but possibly part Whippet
General breed traits: Whippets are part of the Sight hound group and have descended from Greyhounds. They are affectionate, intelligent, friendly and lively but are also gentle and quiet. Originally bred as a hunting dog they now compete in agility, flyball, obedience and can be loving therapy dogs. Whippets are high energy and need plenty of exercise and don't like being left at home alone for too long. Whippets rarely bark so are not good watchdogs but are great family pets with loads of love to give. They are chasers and have high prey drive.
ASSETS: Affectionate, devoted, friendly, sensitive, active and playful. She's a very loyal girl with tons of love to give.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Marley loves to be out and active. She enjoys her walks/runs and absolutely loves the beach and will happily snuggle up with her human on the couch afterwards.
OTHER ANIMALS: She tends to shy away from other dogs and isn't confident around them at all, so she will need some gentle training to build her confidence. She chases birds in the garden so we won't rehome her with cats or other small animals.
GENERAL INFO: Marley tugs on the leash when walking and will bark when someone is at the door. She is housetrained and knows a couple of commands. She doesn't like loud noises so will need a quiet adult home where she can chill and feel safe. She's a very sweet, loving girl who will be a great companion to her new owner and she'll bond quickly if she's given plenty of affection and love.
ESSENTIALS:
Marley is being fostered with a full time worker and coping well as she is given a good run or walk at both ends of the day. Exercise and stimulation are essential for Marley to expend her energy and engage her brain.
Marley needs a well fenced, large secure yard with grass and interesting things for her to sniff and explore.
Marley's new owner needs to commit to professional training where she can socialize and learn new things in a safe and controlled environment. She is bright and wants to please so giving boundaries and instruction will help to build the confidence she lacks.
Marley needs to be allowed to be inside or out as she chooses, to sleep inside at night and be included as part of the family. She needs an adult, dog savvy home and to be the only pet.
If Marley sounds like the perfect girl for you, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
