About Luna
Hi, I'm Luna :)
I'm a gorgeous grey fluff ball, super cuddly, playful, vocal, and always in need of a pet.
I am very friendly. I will run over to anyone that visits the house for pets, roll around on my back for tummy rubs, and play with any toy that you wave in front of me. I would like to sleep cuddled up to you each night too - I love cuddles.
I am also adventurous. I love going to the park with William. I like to eat all the grass I can, explore around the park with a leash on, and make chirping noises at the birds playing in the trees. When I am at home, I will climb into any open cupboards or cardboard boxes.
I am best suited to a house without other pets. I was rescued from a hoarding house with 80+ cats and dogs, so I deserve my own home and family.
I would like to go to a house with a loving family that can give me lots of attention because I am quite affectionate, playful, and needy. I get the zoomies and will run around the house each night.
I would also like a house with an enclosed backyard so I can explore outside and sleep in the sun without me escaping. I am not allowed to be a free-roaming cat, however, because I can't be trusted not to run away.
I also need a responsible pet owner that can manage my medical condition. I have an auto-immune condition that requires prescription wet and dry food, a pill crushed into my food once a day, and a bath with prescription shampoo and conditioner once a fortnight. William has looked after me like this for over a year, so I am used to it and actually enjoy the baths now. This treatment keeps me 100% healthy with no symptoms. William's charity will continue paying for this treatment plus any vet expenses and follow-up appointments forever, so all you have to do is keep it up and check into the vet once a year for a health check.
I really want someone to love me forever and ever. I am a beautiful cat with a lot of love to give and receive. Please adopt me and I will give you all the cuddles in the world. I promise I will be the best thing in your life.
Medical notes
Luna has an auto-immune disease. To keep her skin from becoming inflamed, she requires a few things, all of which are 100% paid for by my charity forever. Doing these three things will keep her 100% inflammation free. She can be checked in to our vet at any time if she has a break-out.
1. Prescription anallergenic wet and dry food. She has a food allergy and will get rashes if she eats anything else. Treats of cooked chicken and fish are ok.
2. Half a tablet of apoquel crushed into her wet food each morning. Apoquel (Oclacitinib) is a once-daily treatment providing relief from allergic itch without the side effects of steroids.
3. A bath or shower once a fortnight with medicated Malaseb shampoo & Pyohex conditioner. Malaseb is an antibacterial, antifungal and antipruritic shampoo for dogs and cats. Formulated to remove, scale, degrease the skin and kill micro-organisms which is a major cause of dermatitis. Pyohex is a topical antibacterial leave-on conditioner. This will help to achieve both the benefits of moisturising with higher antiseptic levels on the skin and coat along with an extended duration of activity.
Adoption details
The adoption process begins when the interested party sends forward an Expression of Interest application. William will then assesses their home for suitability. If William feels the adopter's home and the adopter are suitable, the adopter may liaise with the foster carer to organise a meet and greet at the foster carer's house (video call during covid lockdowns). We do not take the cat/kitten out of their known environment for meet and greets. William will ask the foster carer for feedback on the adopters’ suitability.
If the interested party is suitable, William will organise all adoption paperwork and monies, and commence the adoption.
