About Brad
Brad was made for a life of love. He lives for pats, cuddles and belly rubs. If you happen you stop giving him those special neck scritches, he will place his paw on your lap as if to say “excuse me, why have you stopped ?”
Brad is a young energetic boy. He will need a bit more exercise and stimulation given his youth. He loves his two good walks each day and some play time with his humans. He is learning to be easy on lead but does like to stop to sniff and explore his surroundings
Brad is happy and comfortable with everyone and everything he encounters on his walks. He is happy to say hello to most dogs and is not phased by the hustle and bustle of city living.
Brad is your typical velcro dog. He needs to be with his humans, just in case they have a spare moment to have a quick chat, cuddle or ear scratch. Brad is currently fostered with another greyhound who likes to keep to herself. He may benefit from the company of another more sociable dog to keep him company when his humans are busy or out of the house.
Brad is a smart boy and eager to train. He knows the commands “go to your mat” and when to drop anything he shouldn’t have. This may include random household items he’d like to add to his collection of little treasures brought to his bed.
Brad’s foster carers think he is the most loving creature they have ever met. Giving him love and attention is very easy. He just soaks it all up.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
