About Phoenix
Phoenix is a 12 year old long-haired male Border Collie, surrendered to us through no fault of his own.
The only family he's ever known had to move away and were unable to take him with them, so in the twilight of his life, Phoenix is in ARK care.
A sweet-natured boy with a heart of gold, Phoenix is also stunning to look at. He has a ready smile, as you can see from the photos, and a luxuriant apricot and white coat, which breeders call "red and white". Red and white BCs are far less common than the typical black and white Borders.
Health-wise, Phoenix is still quite sprightly for his age. He had no difficulty jumping into the back of the station wagon you see in the photo. However, he has some arthritis, for which he receives monthly cartrophen injections and oral pharmaceuticals. Like most old dogs, his vision is also impaired, but he's far from blind. Applicants must be committed to providing Phoenix with the veterinary treatment he needs on an ongoing basis.
He is very good with children and is dog- and horse-friendly. He is untested with cats.
His adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
If you are interested in meeting Phoenix, the first step in our adoption process is to complete the online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please ensure that you include some photos of your yard and fencing.
Phoenix lives in Warwick, Queensland and applicants must be willing to travel to Warwick to meet him.
