About Mila
*I am available as a foster to adopt*
I was surrendered to Lort Smith by my previous carers because they no longer had time for me.
Don’t let my age fool you! I’m still full of life and love to spend my days going on daily strolls, and snuggling up to those I trust. It’s a rare sight indeed to see me with my tail not swishing through the air or not smiling at the world as it passes by.
I adore the staff and volunteers at Lort Smith, and love to get lots of pats and cuddles from them.
I love my food and gobble up any treats very enthusiastically, however, I am on a strict weight loss diet, so my food intake will need to be monitored closely. I'll need my new carer to help me on my weight loss journey.
Other animals and children stress me out so it's best I don't go to a home with any of them please.
During my time at Lort Smith, it has been discovered that I have a few health issues. I have been diagnosed with Cushing’s Disease. Additionally, I have luxating patellas in both of my hind limbs, as well as a developmental deformity in both of my front legs. This makes them turn outwards. These do not cause me any pain at the moment, however, may require treatment as I get older.
Due to my health, I will need to go to a home where my new family will diligently monitor my health concerns, and ensure I keep up with my medication and vet checks.
Please have a read up on Cushing's Disease and if you think you can accommodate my gorgeous self into your lifestyle, contact Lort Smith.
Medical notes
- Cushing’s Disease
- Luxating patellas in both hind limbs
