Pixie is the perfect little shadow. Whenever her foster carers are out in the yard she follows so closely looking up with smiling admiration. If she runs off with her dog friends, she is easy to call back especially for cuddles. She walks well on lead with no pulling. Pixie would love to be a lap dog if you let her, she spends most of her time trying to climb into your lap or lolling around on the ground belly up awaiting the best scratches. She literally smiles from ear to ear with all the attention.
Pixie doesn't seem to understand the concept of been in trouble and is happy with any attention. She needs someone who is willing to maintain strong boundaries and continue her training to ensure she can become her best dog self. She also needs stimulation like exercise, puzzle games and dog training to avoid becoming naughty with boredom. Crate training has helped her accept the new environment of foster care, as she was quite anxious when she first arrived.
Pixie really enjoys hanging out with her doggy friends, who teach her not to be afraid and what she should be doing with her time. She can be nervous when meeting new dog pals and needs time to warm to them. She likes having a safe space (like a crate) to watch new friends from before getting involved in play. Pixie loves chasing her dog friends once settled in , as well as chilling with them on the dog bed.
When Pixie is excited (a lot of the time) she has no spatial awareness and tends to run into everything at full pelt....including her foster carers legs. This is the reason she would not be good with young children, as she may accidently knock them over. Pixie will need reasonable sized and sturdy fencing and no tempting objects for jumping on. Although she hasn't shown any inclination to leave her dog friends, she is a little circus performer who likes to jump on things and stretch up fences.
If you would like a cuddle from this bouncy doggo and see her big happy smile for yourself let us know. Pixies pawfect home can't be far away!
