About Chevron
Are you looking for an intelligent, handsome, committed man with piercing green eyes? Chevron is your guy.
During his time in lockdown foster care he has served as an alarm clock, personal trainer, dishwasher and most importantly, a very loyal companion.
Rescued from rural NSW, he started his foster journey a bit unsure of the world but with the help of his partner in theatrics, Poppy the Staffy, he's slowly builing up his confidence and is ready for his forever home. Further confidence building is very much needed for this boy as he still gets nervous around new things, and other dogs. Steady, positive interactions and baby steps to acclimatise him to new situations is required.
His new family will have to get creative on how to socialise Chevron with the current restrictions. Interested families will need to demonstrate having thoroughly thought through the problems that come with adopting a puppy during lockdown and have solutions to avoid raising an under socialised and very dependent puppy.
Chevron is doing well with his basic training, leash skills and his toilet training. His new owner should be committed to enrolling in puppy school or obedience classes to further his education, socialisation and help strengthen the bond between owner and pup. He is super smart, so that intelligence needs to be well directed in positive ways.
An inquisitive pup, Chevron loves to explore around the yard, sometimes getting himself into sticky situations. He will amuse himself by playing with his toys if the resident dog is chilling and is more of a dogs dog, whereby he doesn't really seek out human attention and prefers the company of another dog.
Quite high energy, he will need a solid amount of daily exercise. As a working breed mix, he craves constant mental stimulation and a job to do. Without his brain being challenged, he will get bored and likely naughty. He'd likely be an ideal candidate for some form of dog sport as this will stimulate both brain & body sufficiently. He will not be suited for apartment living and should be included in his new family’s daily activities.
Due to covid restrictions we will not be looking to place him with novice dog owners due to the challenges in raising a puppy during lockdown. He would do well with either another, older confident and well socialised dog as a role model or someone home more often than not. He will need a warm, comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.
If you think you are the right active family for Chevron, head on over to our Fetching Dogs website and fill out an adoption enquiry form as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
