Salamander is a gorgeous little girl full of puppy energy.
Typical of her age, Salamander loves to chew things⦠shoes, toys, socks and her sistersā ears. She is a very mouthy puppy and you are guaranteed to be greeted by an open mouth and a chew of your hand. Sally loves squeaky chew toys, pull ropes and soft teddy bears.
Salamander came into care with her sister and has been in foster care for 4 weeks. She has been living with an older kelpie, cat and chickens. She is cat friendly (although will give chase if in a playful mood). A confident cat is a must. She is chook friendly.
Salamander has a great appetite and is food orientated. This will make training very easy.
Her new family must be committed to continue training. Salamander has yet to be trained on a lead. She is not yet toilet trained, although will always wee on a towel strategically placed on the floor.
Salamander has not had the opportunity to meet other dogs (other than the resident Kelpie) to truly socialise. Socialisation will be important for Sallyās development and to ensure she becomes a well behaved and friendly dog to all other pooches. It is essential that her new family can give Salamander the opportunity to socialise with puppies or tolerant older dogs. Although this can be challenging during covid times, her new family will need to demonstrate how they will meet this requirement in their application.
Being such a young puppy, Salamander does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. It is essential that her new family are home often to spend quality time with her as she adjusts to her new home and life without her sister.
After lots of playtime, Salamander loves nothing more than sitting with her foster family on the couch and snuggling. She is such a darling, sweet and playful girl, and will thrive with a family where she will be included in all daily activities and outings.
