About Finster
Finster is a sweet, cuddly, and energetic puppy who will easily adapt to his new home environment.
Inquisitive by nature, he loves nothing more than exploring new places, meeting new people, and playing with new toys. Fin is eager to please, and very human focused, quickly mastering “sit”, with “drop” and “shake” well on the way! He has taken extremely well to toilet training, and is more than capable of telling his family when he needs to be let outside.
He is most comfortable sleeping on top of his foster parents, but adores his bed, and is quickly adapting to crate training and sleeping in his own room at night. Continuing his crate training is a must to ensure he becomes a confidence and independent, stable dog.
Fin is in the early stages of exploring the outside world but has been extremely well-behaved so far. He will happily walk alongside his foster parents, as long as occasional stops to smell the grass are permitted! His biggest complaint during walking has been the (few!) strangers who don’t stop to show him his due love and affection. In addition to other people, he has met a couple of other cats and dogs, and has been politely curious in all cases, but with a playful glint in his eye.
Due to his young age and lockdown his new family will have to get creative on how to socialise Finster with the current restrictions. Interested families will need to demonstrate having thoroughly thought through the problems that come with adopting a puppy during lockdown and have solutions to avoid raising an under socialised and very dependent puppy. His new owner should be committed to enrolling in puppy school or obedience classes to further his education, socialisation and help strengthen the bond between owner and pup.
In his quiet times, Fin loves nothing more than a cuddle but, like all puppies, requires stimulation and enrichment when he hits his crazy button. His favourite toy is his licking mat, but his squeaking rhino and any tug-of-war toys are close behind. Really anything that can be picked up and carried around in his mouth is a hit. Car trips do not appear to phase him, but (because of lockdown!) these have not been very long.
Fin has the soul of a puppy who doesn’t quite understand his size. His biggest challenge whilst in foster care has been learning not to use his teeth when playing, even when everything is so exciting! He requires a bit more patience and understanding while he masters this. He currently can't contain himself from sitting in a lap, even attempting to help his foster parents out when they are working at the computer, but may find this challenging when he grows into his big paws.
Due to covid restrictions we will not be looking to place him with novice dog owners due to the challenges in raising a puppy during lockdown. Fin’s ideal family would have a lot of time, or another furry friend, to spend with him. He may be less suited to apartment living, but will be happy in any home filled with love, treats, and playtime.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
