About Kojo
If you’re after a real snuggly, cuddly love bug who has a love for play then Kojo might be your man.
Kojo will do absolutely anything for a cuddle and has been loving having his carers home during lockdown. He is very affectionate, but his new owners should also implement time away from his people so he learns to be content in his own company. He loves his toys and is happy in as a pig in mud when he has plenty to choose from.
Due to his young age and lockdown, his new family will have to get creative on how to socialise Kojo with the current restrictions. Interested families will need to demonstrate having thoroughly thought through the problems that come with adopting a puppy during lockdown and have solutions to avoid raising an under socialised and very dependent puppy.
He is almost completely crate trained now. He will go into his crate on his own to have a nap during the day. If he is left alone in a room in his crate he settles down very quickly and is easily sleeping through the night. He is toilet trained and will let us know when he needs to go out by sniffing around or will just take himself out if the back door is open. If it is cold outside he can sometimes need a bit of encouragement before he will go to the toilet before bed.
He knows sit and is great with our other dog and cat. He generally just takes no notice of the cat which works out great for both of them. He is improving very quickly on the lead. He walks well but is still getting used to having the collar on and can find it annoying. He is great in the car so no excuses to leave him at home for the adventures.
Kojo is expected to be of moderate to higher energy levels - he is definitely not going to be a couch potato, but not as energetic as a working breed. He will need a good amount of daily exercise - one walk around the block is not going to fulfill this boy. His new owner should be committed to enrolling in puppy school or obedience classes to further his education, socialisation and help strengthen the bond between owner and pup.
He can be a little nervous if there is a lot going on but settles in to the new environment quickly. His confidence is growing each time he is out so continued positive interactions are essentials. These interactions have to be done correctly and this is why working with a trainer is a must!
We believe Kojo will be able to fit into a range of families due to his sweet nature. He has shown to be well tempered around the family cat so we believe he would suit sharing his home with other animals apart from dogs. Due to covid restrictions we will not be looking to place him with novice dog owners due to the challenges in raising a puppy during lockdown. He would do well with either another confident and well socialised dog as a companion or someone home more often than not. He will need a warm, comfy bed inside to sleep on at night.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
