About Taylor
Our latest pound rescue is TAYLOR, an affectionate one year-old male kelpie, perhaps with a dash of border collie.
With a vet-estimated date of birth of 19 July 2020, young Taylor exhibits the best characteristics of the kelpie. He is alert, eager, mild-mannered and willing to please.
He's an exuberant chap, like most young kelpies, and will need guidance and training to reach his full potential. With love and effort from an experienced dog owner, he will make an affectionate, loyal and devoted companion or family dog.
Like all kelpies, Taylor needs plenty of physical and mental stimulation to be happy and content. Taylor would suit an energetic couple or family with older children and another dog or dogs, who can give him the activity and mental stimulation he needs.
Taylor loves other dogs and is good with children, though may be a little too exuberant for the very young. He is untested with cats, horses and poultry.
Since coming into care, he's become an inside-outside dog and has done well with his house-training.
If you are interested in meeting this charming boy, the first step is to complete our online application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ and an ARK volunteer will be in touch.
Taylor will NOT cope if left alone in a backyard for extended periods, so is not suitable to full-time workers. Preference will be given to homes where someone is around most of the time and there is at least one other dog to play with.
As always, secure fencing is essential.
His adoption fee is $495 and he is desexed, vaccinated and microchipped.
Applicants must be willing to travel to Warwick, Queensland to meet Taylor.
