This is what adopting a real rescue looks like!!!!!!
We are looking for a very special home for this very special boy.
Many people grow up with or own a dog who has had no bad experiences in life. A dog who is confident and happy meeting new people and being in new situations. However, some rescue dogs have not been as lucky in their lives.
The beautiful Rocky was rescued from a puppy farm/breeder. He has lived most of his life kept in a cage, let out only occasionally. So, naturally, he will have some barriers to overcome.
ARCH is looking for a new home with experience in looking after timid dogs or someone who is committed to giving him time and patience to adjust.
Rocky will need a home without children and he does prefer women over men, although he may come to develop a relationship with males in time.
Rocky has already bonded quite happily with his foster mum in only 3 weeks so he WILL bond with a new owner but needs time to adjust to new environments.
He would prefer a quiet home where he can build his trust and confidence, but once he settles in, he will become so happy and animated and you will not believe the change. We believe Rocky will become quite playful and interactive once settled in.
Rocky is currently in foster care with another dog and cat and he does ok with them - mostly just ignores them. He could probably cope with a cat as company quite well.
He has never walked on a lead so will need gradual training with this, as well as gaining confidence in being in the outside world.
Once Rocky has your trust he will give you so much love and you will have given a sweet dog a wonderful chance at a second life - one that he truly deserves.
