About Lucky
Hi! I'm Lucky and I'm looking for a new family to call my own.
*PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE FROM A LOCKDOWN AREA*
Application process
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR LUCKY
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM
https://forms.gle/JVMPyt7fBSDQDx568
The application process can take up to 2 weeks so please allow this much time for us to get in contact with you regarding whether you have been successful or not.
If you have made it through the first round, we may contact you by phone for more information.
NOTE: You are unable to meet Lucky until/unless you have been notified that you are a successful applicant. An adoption cannot be approved unless you are able to come to the shelter to meet Lucky in person and bring any dogs you currently have with you
What I need in my new home:
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both friendly male and female dogs
• Secure Fencing & gates with no gaps that I can squeeze through
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• A diet of good quality dry food to help keep my teeth clean, although I was previously only fed 'human' food so I may be a fussy eater until I get used to my new meals.
• Lots of love and attention
• A quiet & mature family/household - this is what I am used too
• Short regular walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• No young children as I was previously tormented by them so I may nip and bark at children.
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time. I was a bit snappy when I first arrived at the shelter but I love cuddles with the staff.
• True to my breed I am small but mighty and can have attitude, a family with breed knowledge/experience is recommended
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
• Small children due my previous experiences with them (see above)
My best features:
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans, once I'm comfortable with you.
• I walk well on lead
• I love toys & suckling on my bed
• Love to snooze on the couch
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I am shy/scared at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization. I should be meeting lots of new people so I can learn that people aren't scary.
