About Jace
Please meet two-year old JACE, an affectionate and gentle male Neapolitan Mastiff mix, looking for a home with someone who knows and loves big dogs.
Surrendered due to his owner having a degenerative disease and through no fault of his own, this gentle giant of a dog has been a family pet and is very friendly.
He settled into his foster home as if he'd always lived there. He's good mates with his two fur sisters and just loves his foster mum. He likes to lie on the couch in the evenings with his big head on her lap.
As you can see from the photos, Jace also loves the water. His favourite place in the whole world is the river, where he likes to run, walk and swim with his foster family. He has great recall and walks happily on a slack lead.
Jace is dog-friendly, but has had no experience with little dogs. He'd be fine as an only dog, provided his humans are around most of the time. Otherwise, he'd need a canine companion of similar size. He's possessive of his food, so needs to be fed separately from the other dogs. He is untested with cats and poultry.
Aside from the Neo Mastiff part of Jace's genes, we have no idea of his breed mix.
He has had limited exposure to children and is probably too big and a tad clumsy to suit a home with little kids.
He currently weighs 55-60 kgs and is overweight. Our vet has put him on a calorie controlled diet and his foster carer has increased his exercise.
His adoption fee is $350 and he is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.
