About Thomas
Thomas!
Please meet Thomas, a quirky older gentleman who is seeking a fabulous forever home.
While Thomas isn’t a spring chicken, at 8years of age he still has a lot of life to live and a lot of love to give. Yes, kittens can be cute and fun, but they are also A LOT of work... An older cat like Thomas is going to be a much easier new addition to your home.
He isn’t going to be swinging from (and subsequently destroying) your brand-new curtains and he isn’t going to be doing zoomies around the house and bouncing off walls (or your head) at 3am while you’re trying to get some much needed sleep.
After spending his life on the streets without the comfort of a home or family to love him, Thomas is still learning that it’s possible to have somewhere soft and warm to sleep. He loves snuggling up amongst his knitted blankets and is given a heat pad on those cold winter nights.
Having readily available, high quality food is also something new in Thomaś world. Like most former street-cats, he’s not fussy and will very willingly eat any yummy meals he’s offered. Food is also an easy way to his heart!
He absolutely loves treats. If he could life off treats he would.
Thomas will melt into an absolute smooch the moment he is patted or given a scratch under the chin. The first pat is like flicking the ‘on’ switch - once you’ve got his attention and you’ve shown him that your hands offer all the bliss he has previously missed out on, then he’ll happily follow you around and demand more love. He isn’t afraid to tap you on the leg with his paw when he’d like some attention. When he’s feeling extra-comfortable and content, he’ll roll over and present you with his belly for a good old rub.
Like any self-respecting gentleman, Thomas takes pride in his appearance and is diligent with his personal grooming. He’s always happy to welcome some extra assistance with his grooming though and loves to have his people give him a regular brush. He is also passionate about keeping his claws trimmed and gives his various textured cat scratchers a rigorous workout, leaving the couch alone (another benefit of an older cat over a kitten!!). He likes catnip and loves when it’s sprinkled over his cardboard scratcher.
Thomas does best when he can meet new people in a quiet, calm environment. Quick movements and loud noises will startle him and he’ll quickly retreat to a safe place to assess things from afar. Despite this, he does trust quickly and warms up to people who let him come to them on his terms.
His preference for his forever home would be as a solo-cat in a quiet adult-only home so he can ensure he gets all the attention and love. However, he would be ok in a home with high-school aged children and/or with a respectful adult cat.
Thomas is litter trained, microchipped, vaccinated, desexed and up to date with his parasite treatment.
Located: Craigieburn 3064
Medical notes
Thomas has had a damaged section of one ear removed. There will be no future complications.
Adoption details
Hear No Evil's Adoption process:
1st Step * You contact us to obtain an adoption application, and discuss the dog of interest.
Once the application is completed and returned it will be assessed for suitability.
2nd Step * A Meet and Greet with the dog and all members of the adopting family and and current dogs is arranged where possible.
This usually coincides with a Yard check to ensure the safety and security of the property on which the dog will be kept. - We understand that this is not always possible in interstate adoptions and this will be discussed on your initial contact.
3rd Step *Payment of the Adoption fee in full. The dog is then handed over with any belongings, and all relevant paperwork and records.
Transport arrangements are the financial responsibility of the Adopting party. Hear No Evil are happy to assist with departure preparations and ensuring the dog makes its transport connection.
Final step * Once the 14 day 'settling in' period has ended, the change of ownership microchip details are submitted, and the adoption is officially finalised.
