Gecko

Hi I'm Gecko - let me tell you a little bit about myself. I currently live with my foster dad - there is just him and me and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE hanging out with him. Dad says I'm a big smooch as I always have to be either leaning on him or sitting no more than a metre away! We love cuddling up and watching Netflix together, but once I've had enough I'm happy to go off to my bed for a snooze.

Unfortunately I wasn't always lucky enough to live with my foster dad I was all by myself for a while. I guess that's why I am a little bit anxious when dad has to leave me home alone. At first I cried a bit, but I'm getting so much better now that I know he's going to come back. For this reason I'd probably prefer my new family to spend quite a bit of time at home - or even if I had a doggy friend to keep me company - I'm pretty sure that would do the trick.

I also LOVE other dogs and am super friendly (perhaps a little too much!) when I see another one- so I could do with some extra training on minding my manners. Also - I am a big, strong girl, so you'll need your muscles whilst I get that extra training!!! But when it's just dad and I, I'm super obedient. I don't even need treats or rewards to get me to do all kinds of cool stuff - like sitting, and rolling over and shaking hands.

Although I don't live with any kids - I met some on the street the other day. They wanted to give me lots of pats and attention and I was more than happy with that and just sat there whilst they fussed over me! But as I'm quite a big, happy, excitable girl - perhaps the kids in my new family need to be a little bit older. I haven't had any experience with cats - so not sure how I'd go with them. Also I like to give a warning bark if I see or hear something a bit weird - but I never, ever carry on barking. It's just to give dad a heads-up that something's not quite right!
