About Ape
What an absolute stud muffin! Please meet Ape - a Greyhound born on 1st August, 2019, Ape is looking forward to finding his forever home.
Ape is a very big, handsome boy who is filled with love and ready to share that love with a new family. Ape has an aortic valve heart murmur that does effect his cardiovascular health and in future may effect his expectancy. Although he has this health issues Ape is still full of love and joy.
He has all of the wonderful Greyhound qualities, he loves to lean on you when you walk and get pets and scratches. Ape enjoys being out for a walk and he has beautiful lead manners. Although he can be a bit excited, he would never dream of dragging you along and is happy to trot along beside you.
Ape does not particularly like other dogs and can snap toward them or growl so would prefer to be the only dog in the home. Wearing a greyhound muzzle on a walk he can walk with other Greyhounds once he calms down, but he needs slow intros.
We do not rehome our greyhounds with any small animals i.e. cats, chickens or rabbits despite their assessment results due to their racing/ hunting nature.
Ape shows no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety. Ape can be spooked by loud noises so we would recommend he be allowed inside during thunderstorms and fireworks where he knows he is safe. As Ape is also mostly house trained, it should take him no time at all to know that outside is for the toilet.
Greyhounds generally are so used to kennel life that it can take them some time to get used to a new home and can often result in some cheeky behaviours. We suggest getting booked into training as soon as possible to help with putting strict boundaries in place and creating a stronger bond.
Ape is such a happy and affectionate boy and would make a super loyal companion for the right family. He is so stunning and full of love, and he would love to be in a home where he is included as a member of the family and involved in the day to day activities. Ape will thrive in an environment that guides him with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
Ape's adoption fee is $450 and includes his desexing, lifetime registration, and 6 x discounted training lessons with thanks to Dog Ed Daycare & Training. He is also regularly treated for flea and worms and is up to date with his vaccinations.
