About Ed
Ed is a beautiful brindle boy with eyes that will melt your heart!
Ed has adapted to foster life brilliantly and has quickly grown comfortable with his surroundings and let his personality shine. He’s learned his boundaries and understands “on your bed” and “lie down”. He’s also learned to trust his foster family and be confident in joining them in their everyday life, on car trips, long walks and dinner with friends.
Ed loves to be the centre of attention and focus of pats and scratches and will initiate snuggle breaks throughout the day. This usually involves him coming to lean on you, rest his head on your lap, or nuzzle into your armpit. Ed can sometimes find it difficult to switch out of snuggly mode and give his humans some space but eventually gets the hint if the pats stop, or he’s redirected to his bed and given a treat.
Ed isn’t often vocal but will nudge you with his snoot when he wants something, be it pats, food or to go outside (he’s perfectly toilet trained). He can also be a curious snoot, and you may find his nose sneaking up to sniff anything yummy if he feels comfortable to, just in case he might be allowed a taste.
Outside of the house, Ed LOVES his walks come rain or shine and will never fail to show his best happy hops when the lead comes out. On his sniffaris, Ed enjoys making a beeline for poles or trees but rarely exerts his strength and is a brilliant and respectful walker.
Ed is a little unsure of some dogs on his walks so will need an adopter with some experience.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.

Following your initial application, we conduct a home check. Our dogs are placed on a two week trial. The adoption fee is paid at time of placement and reimbursed if the trial is unsuccessful.
After the trial period is deemed successful, the adoption process is finalised.
