About Tinker ~ 3yr Old Cattle Dog(on trial 4/9/21)
Meet Tinker, a 3 year old Cattle Dog who loves to play with her foster brother by day and
snuggle up couch-bound by night.
Tinker loves to play and out chase her foster brother in the yard, whilst she doesn’t understand the whole fuss about chasing a ball, she’s slowly getting to know the purpose of tug-a-war through her foster brother's constant insistence to get involved.
Tinker knows how to sit, stay and wait for food, she is not a vocal dog so no barking or
whimpering. She is a well behaved dog who can stay outside during the day and night however I wouldn't leave out a pair of slippers because her and her foster brother can’t resist getting into those.
Tinker loves to go on walks where there aren't too many overwhelming distractions, she walks well on a lead and does not pull, in fact she’s on the slower side and loves to take in all of the interesting smells along the way however she understands when it’s time for a run / jog. Tinker has met other dogs at home and on walks, she gets along with them well especially once she gets to know the other dog she enjoys a gentle wrestle (she loves her foster brother and smothers him with kisses). However she displays cattle dog-like-behaviours at home including a manageable slight dominance over the resident dog (aka she likes the attention from her Foster Mum) her foster brother isn’t fussed with this so it hasn’t been a problem.
Naturally, given her breed, she shows herding-like behaviour with a gentle nip at the ankles. For this reason we do not recommend a home with young children under the age of 10. Tinker would enjoy a brother or sister to play with in a large yard HOWEVER if they would not cope with Tinker’s nature (above) this wouldn’t be a good fit.
FROM TINKER: I am a cautious but loving girl. Whilst I am a little unsure of you at first, I
promise once I get to know you I’ll be your loyal companion and will greet you with a bundle of excitement when you return home for the day. I’ll be tinkering around the house behind you
seeing what you’re up to, watching the world pass by outside from the window or cuddling up
with you at night time if you choose to have me by your side, otherwise I'm fine on my own or with my fur friends outside.
I am inquisitive, intelligent and can’t wait to find my forever home with a person or couple that
will love and care for me and patiently continue my training.
