About Titan
The time has come for our big scruffier Titan to find his forever family and what a lucky family they will be, as this guy just oozes love and goofiness.
Titan came to us from rural NSW and is learning all about city life. His foster parents have been getting him out and about to build up his confidence in the big wide world and he has been doing really well. He can be a little nervous in new situations, with loud noises and with unfamiliar people, but he builds relationships with his people quickly and with some reassurance and guidance he quickly relaxes. His new family should ensure they continue his exposure gently as to not overwhelm him.
Titan is an oversized goofball and is a ball of entertainment. He absolutely adores his humans and will do just about anything for a snuggle on the lounge or a good belly rub. He came into care with no training but luckily he is smart and so he is coming along well and picks things up very quickly. He now knows how to sit and lie down and walks well on leash. He is toilet trained and sleeps right through the night on his own bed. He does however like to push boundaries and will try things like mouthing the hands of his people. With consistent corrections he is fine, but he will take advantage of anyone who isn’t very experienced when dealing with large, boundary pushing pups.
Titan has been living in care with another large breed female dog who he gets along well with. He has been going on some pack walks and had some play dates with other known friendly dogs and has been friendly and playful with every dog he has met. He is not suitable for dog parks or off leash areas yet as his recall needs work and the dog park environment would be too overwhelming for where he is at right now.
We feel he would do better in a home as a single dog as he does need a lot of training time put into him and he can be a little pushy for attention when another dog is in the home. Due to his size and goofiness we are looking for an adult only home (although he is very gentle with children so ok for visiting kids). He seems to do much better with a male handler, so if there are any adult females in the home, they must be very dog savvy and know how to instil boundaries and continue consistent training or he will take advantage of this.
Since he came into care during peak lockdown, it has been hard to find a lot of time for his carers to get him used to being on his own. He needs work in this department- it is not separation anxiety per se, he just gets into bored destructive overgrown puppy mode and will chew or scratch things he shouldn’t. He can be kept entertained with kongs and toys for short periods, but needs a family who are around most of the time and prepared to help work on his ability to be left home alone.
Titan is not overly high energy and is happy with a couple walks a day around the neighborhood and some good playtime. He is not suited to apartment living and is untested with cats. He would love a family who will take him on adventures and include him as part of their day to day lives. He is an attention seeker and is a dog that loves to be the center of his people’s universe all day. He will need a good quality diet and a warm, comfy bed to sleep on inside at night time.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
