About Audrey
This beauty is Audrey, a 5 year old Great Dane. She is a clever girl who is quick to learn. Audrey has never lived with cats and we are seeking a home for Audrey as an only dog so she can be the focus. Audrey is very willing to learn and will do well with further training to slowly start introducing her to dogs again.
Audrey is a sensitive and very empathetic soul who will always be there to snuggle if you are down. She loves to bury her head in your lap for cuddles and prefers a calm and gentle pat. She is sensitive to the moods of her home and can get stressed when missing her loved ones. Audrey gets a bit of separation anxiety and will sometimes not eat much if she is feeling anxious. Audrey isn’t suited to a full-time working home, and she will need time to adjust to being left on her own.
Daily walks are essential. Audrey loves to get out and walks nicely on lead passing by most distractions without too much fuss. Once a social butterfly, poor Audrey has been harassed, barked at, nipped and even attacked in the past due to some really bad luck. This has been very hard on her and makes her anxious and sometimes now defensive. She needs to know she is protected. Obviously, she is not suited to socialising in off lead areas.
We are looking for a quiet neighbourhood where there aren’t any neighbouring dogs that jump or bark at the fence which she has had to put up with in recent years. Audrey would need a very secure back yard in case she got scared when left alone but would prefer to be left inside where she is very well behaved.
Although she has fun tearing apart new toys, she gets bored of toys pretty quickly however, she does like a soft blankey to snuggle into. Ultimately, she would much rather just be around her family. When she’s in a playful mood, Audrey is a real fun and entertaining character but can also be prone to a bit of mischief and the occasional hole. Believe it or not, she’ll do anything for a celery stick!
She is a real people’s pup and would become friendly with anyone because she thrives on human interaction. She will melt your heart and be your best friend. Audrey has spent quite a bit of time around a child and so long as children are gentle, she will do her very best to do the same.
Audrey would benefit with loving, playful, and patient owners who understand leadership. Expect millions of slobbery kisses and long cuddle sessions on the couch. She loves attention but also loves a good snooze and spends a good part of the day sleeping.
Audrey is an absolute sweetheart.
