About Lucy
The first thing to say about Lucy’s personality, is that she has a lot of it! This bouncy, energetic girl is full of life and can’t wait to find her forever home. She is still relatively young and has missed out on some early grounding, so she will require some extra training to help her overcome some of her exuberance and excitement. The other side to Lucy’s personality is the cuddle bug in her - she absolutely just loves affection from people. She is also a very intelligent girl and will learn new skills quickly.
Lucy’s ideal forever home:
Lucy will suit a home with an active family who will include Lucy in their adventures. Having a large, safe yard to run around and play in, would also be ideal for Lucy to expend some energy and show off some of her gymnastic skills. Lucy appears very adaptable to new situations, but would suit a home where she will have lots of company - human and canine. We haven’t seen Lucy around children, but we have to assume that her excitability and energy levels should considered. She is also a little too excited by the sight of our clinic cats. She shows no aggression but way too much interest!!
Lucy’s story:
Our beautiful little Lucy is in our care as a result of a relationship breakdown. As so often is the case, in these scenarios, other factors take precedence and the once loved pets fall by the wayside. Lucy was passed around to a few “homes” before she was brought to us as a “stray” by her final “owners”. It is just heart breaking to think how confused she must have been. As her ownership was in question, poor little Lucy spent a week at the pound before we were able to officially take her into our care. She has been an absolute gem ever since her arrival!
More about Lucy:
Lucy is an active, intelligent girl who is ready for a loving forever family. She will need a committed family who will love her, train her, and provide enough mental stimulation to keep her busy. At the end of a busy day, she will repay your attention and time with cuddles, kisses and so much love.
Lucy has made some great friends here at Sweet Pea. She gets along well with all of our other rescue doggies and absolutely loves to play and play. She walks well on lead once she overcomes her initial excitement. She also loves food, and so is very easy to motivate and train using treats.
If you think that Lucy is the perfect addition to your family, please fill out her adoption questionnaire and hit submit! As with all of our rescue doggies, Lucy’s adoption fee is $400.
Medical notes
Lucy is a very healthy young lady with a beautiful soft coat. She is up to date with vaccinations and is treated for heartworm, fleas, ticks and intestinal worms. During Lucy's time at Sweet Pea Animal Rescue, she has also been desexed.
