About Doug
Hi I’m Doug and I’m looking for my forever home. I’m a 5 year old lab/staffy cross with a lovely nature. At home, i want to be around my people in everything they do, this sometimes means I invade your personal space. I love to be around kids and get worried when I can hear them crying, so I will run to them to comfort them in times of need. I have basic training and am toilet trained, I’m not bad on the lead but if another dog shows some excitement I get a bit excited and will pull on my lead, I believe I could be an exceptional dog with some more training! My Biggest down fall is I have quite bad separation anxiety and will scale a 6 foot fence to find people, so high fencing is a must for me. I am currently taking medications to help me with my anxiety. My behaviour specialist tells me that the separation anxiety is a learned behaviour so with the right training this behaviour can be un – learned. I would love to go to a family that can help with my anxiety, I will need someone to home all of the time until my separation anxiety is under control.
Medical notes
Doug is on once-daily medication for his separation anxiety.
