About Lilo
Lilo is a people-loving, playful pup! She is still very much a puppy at heart who needs a gentle, patient adopter who is willing to put in the time and effort to guide her. She would greatly benefit from someone with experience with large breeds who can offer her the exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation she needs. An owner who continues training her to work on her manners, as she can jump up when excited, would be great for Lilo. During her Behaviour Assessment she absolutely LOVED the toddler doll and was very affectionate with lots of nudging and licking. She can be a bit boisterous at times though, still being only young and not having been taught appropriate manners, so is better suited to a family with children 8 years+. She would like to meet all the family at time of adoption. Lilo was reactive to other dogs when meeting so may be best as your only dog or could be suited to living with a calm, social, tolerant male. They will also need to meet at time of adoption. Lilo is a high energy girl, and due to her play style with a squeaky toy (very rough and requiring a trade out with a treat), we would not recommend a home with cats or pockets. Lilo must be allowed indoors spending quality time with her new family. She came into the shelter as a stray so high secure fencing is required at her new home.
