About Tank ~ 8mo Mix Breed (On Trial 5/8/21.)
This handsome fellow is Tank, an 8 month old mixed breed dog. We are not sure exactly what breeds he is but we think there’s perhaps a bit of staffy and cattle dog in there and perhaps some mastiff and/or greyhound. He seems to have the best bits of whichever
breeds it is. Based on the size of his paws he will most probably be a medium sized dog when fully grown.
Tank is the smoochiest and most affectionate boy. He loves nothing more than lounging
around, preferably on the couch. He will lean against you or snuggle his head into your shoulder for pats for hours on end if you let him! Apart from the sofa and cuddles, Tank’s two main loves are people and going for walks. He likes to go up to every person he comes across to say hello and request a pat. He also loves lying in the sun in the yard with his foster brothers (when he isn’t relaxing on the couch or in his dog bed). Oh, and how could we forget? He also LOVES his food!
Tank is super social and friendly with every other dog and person we have come across. He loves kids too and is extremely tolerant with them. He’s a pretty laidback dog. As long as he gets one good walk a day, and plenty of human interaction, he is happy to chill out the rest of the time. He’s not an overly energetic dog. He is very smart and eager to learn and learnt to sit within a day of arriving at his foster carers home. He walks very well on lead and his recall when off leash is excellent.
Tank is mostly toilet trained during the day, and getting better all the time. He does need to be given opportunities to go outside and toilet every couple of hours as he wasn’t taught as a young puppy. He sleeps in his indoor crate overnight and can hold if we give the opportunity to go out last thing at night and first thing in the morning.
Tank would suit new owners where someone is home more often than not. He really needs to be with his human/s most of the time. If he was to be left for longer periods of time he would need to have a four legged companion. Tank’s new home would need good fencing that is 6ft tall with no small gaps. He would need to be allowed inside most of the time and needs a jacket or jumper outside in winter as he is very lean and so can get cold.
For more information or to meet Tank, please contact his foster carer on their email
kellyrussell33@hotmail.com. Tank is in foster care in Newcastle, NSW and is available for adoption interstate pending COVID restrictions.
Tank’s adoption fee is $600 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms and microchipped and lifetime registered. You can see all our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au.
