About Maui
I was surrendered to Lort Smith after chewing on a bone and it got stuck! It was at this time that my previous carers decided they didn't have the time to give me the attention I so desperately crave.
I would love a home where I am allowed inside as I just love human attention and interaction. I will need to be the only animal of the home, as I lack confidence around other animals and would much prefer to have your attention all to myself. My adopters will need to be patient and help me build up my confidence around new environments, people and other animals.
I would enjoy going to obedience training as it will help me build upon my manners. I am a quick learner, very intelligent and will do pretty much anything for food rewards, so training with me will be lots of fun!
Daily walks and playtime are a must as they will provide me with exercise and lots of mental stimulation. Hot tip: I am obsessed with rope toys!
Now for the boring medical bits. I will be foster to adopt for the next four weeks, whilst I adjust and settle into my new home. I am currently on anxiety medication as I am a little stressed in the shelter. My new adopters will need to monitor me to see if I display any further sign of stress or anxiety in a home environment.
Lort Smith have determined that I have a mild dental disease and hip dysplasia - neither of which currently require any form of treatment but this may change as I age. I also had a nasty lump successfully removed so I should not have any further issues with that.
I will be adopted out with an adoption disclaimer for the above medical issues.
If you are looking for a handsome, affectionate companion, look no further!
