Overall, Ohara is a beautiful, soft, snuggly girl who will give you endless love & affection. Her new home needs to be committed to continuing her training while keeping her both mentally and physically busy to help her become the best dog she can be.

Ohara is around 1 year old and she loves to love! She would sit by you / on you all day if she could, a total cuddle bug. She is still young and learning, but wants to please. She is clever and food motivated, and picks things up quickly. She gets plenty of attention with people commenting how 'handsome', 'pretty' and 'sweet natured' she is, and she loves it!

She is well behaved inside, toilet trained and can use a dog door. She has improved lots with her food manners and now knows she needs to sit, wait, and not jump on you. Food is still very exciting and has been known to cheekily explore the kitchen benches.

Ohara has puppy energy and excitement and is getting 2-3 walks a day. With this routine she is happy to snooze away when at home. To keep her happy and chill inside, she would need plenty of exercise + enrichment (things such as food puzzles). She has finally discovered toys and likes to throw them around and run after them in the backyard, getting close to playing fetch.

Walks well on lead but can pull when excited, at 30kg she is a strong girl when she wants to be. She's learning to walk with a halti and this is going well. She can get excited when passing other dogs or people and sometimes wants to jump on them. Her new home must be willing to work on this and stick to adults only walking her. As she is easily distracted her recall isn’t great so needs walks on lead.

She would love to be by your side 24/7 but she settles well alone and will snooze until you come back. She is dog friendly and we would love a home for her with another dog that can match her play and ideally that she can learn from. She displays some dominant behaviour with dogs but responds well when told off. It would be more accurate to say she is dog way-overly-friendly and she does need to work on her manners and curbing her enthusiasm when seeing and meeting dogs (and people), we think a resident dog would help with this. If you don’t have a resident dog that is also fine, though she would need more exercise, not as much time alone, and benefit from ongoing socialising.

Ohara is a great girl, her nature is one of the sweetest, and her cuddles are like no other. BUT... we believe she has the potential to be even better! She has shown a cheeky side, and while she does want to please and learn, she is still young, stubborn and can lose focus. We are looking for an owner that has experience with large breed, strong willed dogs, who can handle her, set boundaries and provide strong leadership.
