About Bruce
Bruce is a gorgeous 5 year old greyhound. He is gentle, loving and the biggest sweetheart.
At home
Bruce is very affectionate and loves coming up for pats and cuddles. He also has a beautiful, soft coat so you’ll never want to stop giving him cuddles!
He can also be independent but usually likes to be in the same room as his human companions and will lovingly follow you around the house. He is most comfortable on carpet or outdoors and can be cautious on floorboards and tiles as he will occasionally slip.
Bruce loves to snooze. On the couch, on his bed, under his blanket, outside in the sun/shade, or on any floor if that means he gets to be near his human companions. He usually spends most of his day lazing and snoozing and will occasionally play with a toy when encouraged. When he plays with a toy he can get possessive of the toy but won’t say no to a pat (he loves his pats so much he may even get bored of the toy and just want pats instead).
He’s generally quite calm and relaxed but can get excited about pats, toys, treats, food and walks.
If everyone is heading out, he will likely try invite himself out too but he is okay being left alone in the house (he’ll usually goes to snooze on his bed/coach and will come and greet you at the door when you’re back).
Note about greyhounds and sleep startle - Bruce will sometimes sleep with his eyes open, so it is important to call him to make sure he is awake before touching him (otherwise he may be startled).
Walking
Bruce loves his walks and currently he is getting 30 minutes a day. He will sometimes stop on a walk if he gets distracted or nervous. Usually a treat or a gentle nudge gets him back on track, but occasionally if he is too distracted/nervous you may need to give him pats and time to calm down or if there’s a rush you may need to physically pick him up to move him.
His ideal home is:
• Adults or older children only - no young kids (as they may not understand sleep startle)
• No apartments – Bruce loves being outside
• Bruce is generally good with older kids and other greyhounds
