Rex

Rex has had a bit of a rough start to life, but is ready to start fresh and find his new furever home.

Due to not having much experience with the big wide world, Rex will need a confident, experienced dog owner who will be able to introduce him to scary new things in a slow and positive way so that he can get past his initial suspicion of things he has never seen before, and would benefit greatly from having one-on-one training with a trainer to help him bond with his new owner and help them understand each other.

Similarly, Rex will need to build up positive experiences with other dogs, as he is quite unsure about them at the moment. Because of this, he will need to be the only pet in the family, and is not suitable to go to a home with young children.

After being rehomed and returned due to his overexuberance, Rex has been assessed by our behavioural vet, who has prescribed him with anti-anxiety medication to help him cope in the shelter environment and learn how to be a respectable member of the family.

He may be weaned off of this medication eventually depending on how well he settles into a home, but he may need to be on them indefinitely.
